Just another Oslo photo day 📸

Contax T2 / Cinestill 800

Just a normal day with the Contax T2 in my pocket and a few loose ideas of what to look for.

Kim, Tommy, and I stopped by the Opera House first. We didn’t shoot much inside. Mostly, we walked and talked. Tommy showed us a few good spots, corners where the reflections tighten and the lines start working together.

Cinestill 800 in a white building isn’t the obvious choice, but that’s part of the fun. It cools the marble, deepens the shadows, and makes the Opera House feel slightly less polished.

Just a handful of frames.
And sometimes that is more than enough.

Tommy and Kim holding the elevator for me while I run towards it ( it explains the blurry shot, but it still has the charm )

After visiting the opera house, we walk to the Munch museum which is nearby to see the view from the top.

A shot while we walked to the Munch Museum. ( To bizarre not to shoot haha )

The Conversation / Leica M8

When we were at the MUNCH, we stayed for a while. Not really shooting. Just sitting with coffee and talking about photography, like we always do.Sharing ideas. Small tricks. Good locations. Why a photo works. Why it doesn’t. That’s one of my favorite parts of these photowalks. The conversations come first. The frames come later.

And then the evening arrives.

The light softens.
Shadows stretch a little longer.
Oslo slows down.

We finish the coffee, pick up the cameras again, and step back into the city, ready to see what the last light is willing to give.

THE NEXT DAY, the sun is up! ( WOOHOO!)

The sun came out properly. Hard light. Clean shadows. The kind of light that doesn’t forgive much.

Cinestill 800 in sunlight behaves differently. Less glow, more contrast. Blues turn a little steel-like. Reds become confident. Grain starts to show itself in the midtones.

Oslo in sun is not dramatic. It doesn’t try too hard. But if you pay attention, the light cuts beautifully across buildings. Long shadows. Reflections in windows. Small human moments framed by strong architecture.

With the Contax T2, it’s simple.
No lens decisions. No overthinking.
Just: is this worth one of the 36?

Sometimes it’s a facade catching light. Sometimes it’s a person crossing into shadow. Sometimes it’s nothing special at all until the film gives it character.
Oslo doing what it always does, if you slow down enough to see it.
