Dead End
The film went on to earn 23 international awards, including two for Thomas Sandfield’s role as Director of Photography. An incredibly humbling achievement, especially considering this was the very first feature film he ever worked on. It was made possible only through the extraordinary talent and dedication of everyone involved, both in front of and behind the camera.
A genre-bending mix of action, thriller, and dark comedy, Dead End follows a morally complex hitman who only takes out those who "deserve it." Sent from London to Hong Kong, a veteran contract killer (Bryan Larkin, London Has Fallen, Chasing the Dragon) returns one year after the loss of his girlfriend. Tasked with a seemingly simple hit alongside a reckless young gun for hire (Julian Gaertner, Chasing the Dragon), the mission unravels as the older assassin’s past comes back to haunt him, forcing both men to question their purpose and principles.
Directed by Carter Ferguson (Fast Romance, Dead Ringer) and co-produced by Ferguson and Larkin, who also penned the script, the film was developed during their time in Asia while Larkin was filming Chasing the Dragon with Donnie Yen and co-star Gaertner.
