The Life of a Photograph is a new National Geographic book by photographer Sam Abell. Drawing on 40 years of Abell’s fieldwork, the book takes readers on assignment and inside the heart of this master photographer to witness the making of nearly 200 images. By presenting alternative images and clear, compelling text, Abell describes that act of seeking the picture — “a process with no absolute ending, as time and thought continue to shape the life of a photograph.” The Life of a Photograph will be available for $40 at the end of October.

Steves Digicams has published a review of the Casio EX-Z200, a new 10 megapixel compact digital camera. Part of his conclusion is:
Bottom Line - Casio has added some great features to the Exilim series with EX-Z200. The 4x wide zoom lens and face recognition and auto shutter features are great additions to the camera. The size and performance are also good for a 10-megapixel model. With an MSRP of US$300 we feel this camera is worthy of your consideration.

“Well, if the SB800 is a real nice Chevy, this baby’s a Cadillac.”

This single sentence is even to tell the story, SB-900 is surely a very promising flash-gun by Nikon. I really would like to know how it compares with the lately announced extremely flexible flashgun by Sony: HVL-F58AM.
